On June 30th I hosted a “Self-Care Sunday Brunch” !
I wanted to create an environment where women could make some “me time” and feel special. There was a lovely brunch spread and complimentary mimosas. We played a game with a script that I created and narrated. A few lucky ladies went home with self-care themed gifts, and one luck lady won a $75.00 dinner and a movie gift card package!
There are literally hundreds of self-care tips on the internet. Most of them have a little something for everyone. For the artsy, there are drawing, coloring, and painting suggestions (which don’t apply to me personally). For the free spirited there are blast music and do a silly dance suggestions (also do not apply to me personally). For me, when I think of self care I think of realistic activities that I can fit into my life and truly make a difference. It is important to remember that while hashtag self care Sunday may be a catchy slogan, caring for ones self needs to be incorporated into our DAILY routines.
So, in closing I shared a list of my personal top ten favorite self care suggestions! Many women were able to identify with the tips and asked that I email the list to them.
