Instead of placing the pressure of becoming a “new you” on yourself, try embracing the new year as an opportunity to achieve your goals. Whether you are motivated to loose weight, or make a career change skip the notion of meeting perfection. Most resolutions fade fast because they are not aligned with tangible goals. Going into the new year with an overly ambitious and aggressive declaration of something you plan to achieve can do more harm than good!
Now by no means do I want you to play it small, or sell yourself short. What I am asking you to do is take a moment to set a SMART goal for yourself and then make sure you are of the mindset that you are ready to make the most of the opportunity that comes in the form of each new day. It is the ability to choose taking a step forward instead of standing still or allowing your feet to stay firmly planted in the Past.
